Welcome to the Beyond Abuse: The Resilience Blueprint Podcast! Whether you're here to share your story or contribute as a trauma-informed professional, your participation in this initiative is truly valued and appreciated.

For Survivors: Sharing your story can be an emotional process, and we want to ensure you’re prepared to navigate it with care. Before starting the guest form process, please consult with a trusted friend/family member, coach, or therapist to determine your readiness. Completing all survivor-related questions is mandatory—applications with skipped questions will not be seen or considered. Your willingness to share your journey is impactful, but this platform is designed to educate and inspire listeners, not solely to be therapeutic, set the story straight, defend false accusations or seek vengeance for the speaker. If your focus is on having your story heard no matter what, this may not be the right platform for you. We seek survivors who have done healing work and are no longer stuck in the experience of the abuse.

For Professionals: We are seeking trauma-informed, credentialed experts who are passionate about empowering survivors through education and insight. Professionals must provide their credentials prior to the initial interview. While it is not a requirement, professionals who are survivors themselves bring a unique perspective that is highly valued. You only need to answer the questions pertaining to professionals, and applications with incomplete responses for this category will not be reviewed.

Important Notes for All Applicants:

Not every episode is published: Our show prioritizes the audience experience and may decide not to air certain recordings.
Anonymity is prioritized: Your identity, the abuser's identity, and anyone in your experience's identity will remain protected throughout the process. All information given during the application process will be kept confidential if your application is not accepted for the next stage. (The 2nd phase will be a video recording submission).

Survivors ~ Can you describe the environment or circumstances of your life before the abuse began, and what key aspects of that time stand out to you now? Who was your abuser (no names), what form(s) of abuse did you endure? Describe yourself at this time, did you people please? Have low self-esteem? Were you totally confident with a clear head on your shoulders? A sense of purpose? Who were you, we want to know you like we know a good friend who's joining us for coffee. Did you have any limiting beliefs? Beliefs about life, culture, religion, etc that we should know about? What was your life's philosophy at that time?

Survivors ~ Tell us your story. Really try to stay in linear storytelling from how abuser came into your life to the moment it ended, inclusive of any post-separation abuse. How did you know you were hooked? Paint us a picture in its entirety, share as many details as you can. You don't have to go into specific graphic details in depth or anything that will retrigger you or set you back in your healing but give us as deep of a picture as you wish. Use the verbiage of the manipulative tactics used and give examples and share why this worked on you to keep you in the relationship. Did the tactics change over time and how did you respond? Explain the rollercoaster of the relationship the highs and lows as well as the different forms of devaluation that were used.

Survivors ~ Looking back, were there any early signs or moments that you now recognize as indicators of the abusive behavior? How did these evolve over time?

Survivors ~ What specific impact did the abuse have on your daily life, emotions, or sense of self during that time?

Survivors ~ Was there a defining moment or event that led to your decision to seek help, leave the abusive situation, and begin your healing journey? What was the final straw, were there hoover attempts, did no contact come into play, was there post-separation abuse? What did all this look like? Were their triggers that you didn't expect? Were their other things after the relationship that you didn't expect to happen after the abuse that did happen? Did you have physical sensations, triggers, intrusive thoughts that you couldn't explain? Really dig into this. Did you develop chronic illness/pain?

Survivors ~ When you think about your journey since that time, what have been some of the greatest challenges, as well as the milestones or victories that have shaped your path to healing? What have you learned about the experience? What have you learned about yourself? Who are you now, what beliefs have changed? What is your life philosophy? We really want to get a feel for who you are.
